Artist bio
As a UK-based session musician working in the Pop and Musical Theatre worlds, Adam has performed live to over 1 million people (including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II), worked with Grammy winning composers and toured the world several times over. As a sideman, he has worked with the likes of ‘I Am Harlequin’, ‘Tori Allen-Martin’, ‘Shao Hao’, ‘Don Mescall’ and Britain’s Got Talent winners ‘Collabro’. For the past few years he has worked as Children’s Musical Director and Cover Conductor/Keys 1 on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘School of Rock’ in London’s West End, taking pride in nurturing the next generation of young musical talent.
As an artist, Adam T Smith’s evocative, Jazz-infused music takes influence from a wide number of sources: from the mellow beats of Tom Misch, Moonchild, FKJ and D’angelo to the smooth guitar stylings of Johnny Smith and George Benson. Inspired by the places that music has taken him and the people he has met, Adam’s groove based, lo-fi stylings take sometimes unexpected but heartfelt turns.
