Born in Palermo in 1959, ALESSANDRO BONANNO began his classical piano studies at a very young age while dedicating himself to Jazz music. He graduated in Piano, Composition and Orchestral Conducting at the State Music Conservatory. From 1985 to 1988 at the Musical Academy of Pescara he attended the Corso di Alto Perfezionamento in Musica Jazz hold by the famous jazz musician Enrico Pieranunzi. He has parteciped in many Radio programs such as: RadioTre Suite, Invenzione a due voci (RAI-Radio Tre), Studio "A" Jazz (Radio Vaticana). As Jazz pianist, he played with english drummer Mel Gaynor (Simple Minds) in his "Fusion Project". As composer and arranger, he wrote a “Symphonic Jazz” concert program, and worked for soundtracks in many productions.  As pianist-composer he performs in many concerts his own compositions, classical repertoire and musics by american composers of XIX and XX centuries, as Gottschalk, Cervantes, Joplin, Nazareth, Gershwin and others: on this kind of repertoire he holds masterclasses, often in collaboration with the musicologist Marcello Piras, international specialist in this topic. He is currently piano professor (Classical and Jazz) at the State Music Conservatory of L'Aquila.
