Artist bio
“I always wanted to make history”. So goes the first lyric that Melbourne-via-New-Zealand modern heavy mavericks Banks Arcade penned together, setting the bar for their ambitions about as high as it gets. Fortunately, the future looks bright as can be for the quartet as they fiercely barrel towards the release of their debut full-length, Future Lovers. Starting out in Auckland a short number of years ago, Banks Arcade have always been a group hell bent on innovation and ambition, and by welding elements of hard rock, hip hop, electro and metalcore into their creative DNA, Banks Arcade, aka Joshua O’Donnell (vocals, guitar), Jason Meadows (guitar), Harlan Allen-Jones (bass) and James Feekes (drums), remain a band simultaneously impossible to pigeonhole and instantly recognisable in one neon- soaked swoop. Coming together over a shared love of music with a razor-sharp avant-garde aesthetic, Banks Arcade have always teetered on modernity, their gaze ever-fixed just beyond the horizon via their flourishing sonic wiles. Already in command of a dedicated fanbase and escalating industry attention, the Banks Arcade legacy is only truly just getting started, with 2022 now set to bring even more potent doses of futuristic heaviness to the world, courtesy of the group’s first ever impending full-length release. "Future Lovers" which is due to release on July 29th.
