J. Adams

Singer-Songwriter and Producer J. Adams hails from historic Selma, Alabama. Currently he works out of a home studio called “Evan’s Room”, in Prattville, Alabama where he resides. His passion in music started at a young age riding in the car hearing timeless songs from the likes of Donell Jones and Joe. His musical ability in production, singing, songwriting, and engineering are all self-taught from videos, practical application, forums, and trial and error, focusing on topics of relationships and the trials of self-realization. Throughout the years J. Adams has focused on perfecting his craft and has been known to have a keen ear for melodies and beat selection. In 2020 he released 2 Eps. “Behind Closed Doors”, released in February focuses on the reality of relationships behind the happy public persona, while “Mood AF” is viewed as a short playlist of songs to set the mood. He plans to release a number of singles in 2021, as he released his first on January 14th, titled “Paris”. His style of singing and rapping is contributed to his love of word play, and a need of a certain aggression in some records. He is heavily influenced by southern trap music in his production, and genres such as jazz and neo-soul in his chord structure. He likes to refer to himself as a genre-less artist, due to his multiple approaches to making music.
