Leila Aleksandra

Leila Aleksandra first stepped into the music scene as a backup singer for Jadranka Juras' album Sakura. In 2010 she released her first single "Ti si" ("You Are"), where she sings about love as an omnipotent force. The song was a hit and chosen for the national radio station VAL202's annual music compilation. The next year her she put together her own band, Leila & Don't Quit The Band, with whom she released the second single "Kjer je sonce doma ("Where The Sun Resides"). Leila Aleksandra's approach to pop music is one with refined aesthetics within the landscape of art, which she walks through as a poet, author, and film producer. Her latest single "Kako dajati" ("How To Give") is a result of experimenting with mainstream pop music, R'n'B, and simplistic messages sung in slang. She digs through her hip hop culture background, intending to deliver the ultimate gift - love. She is currently in the studio writing and recording with Peter Penko, a prominent producer who's worked with artists such as Siddhartha, Silence, Indigo, Jakob Kobal, Tretji Kanu, and many others. New material is set to release early next year.
